About the team
The School of Humanities offers a rich teaching and research environment spanning the disciplines of Philosophy, Classics and Ancient History, History, English and Cultural Studies and European Languages and Studies. As well as undergraduate and postgraduate programs, the school supports an active research program.
About the opportunities
As the successful appointee, you will analyse the contribution of women in the Italian Wars, and contemporary discussions of women and gender that surrounded it, and the historiographical presentation of such women in the context of the Italian Wars. This research will assess a range of extant fifteenth and sixteenth-century material, visual, and textual sources.
To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:
- PhD (or near completion) in a related area of early modern history
- Significant research expertise
- Thorough knowledge of the gender and cultural politics of the Italian Wars
- Capacity to work independently and in a team
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Capacity to publish peer-reviewed articles in high-ranking journals
