  • Full-time appointment on a fixed term basis for five years.
  • Base salary range: Level C, $144,143 – $165,809p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The UWA School of Engineering is renowned for its award-winning researchers, teachers and facilities. It is a multidisciplinary school offering education and research in several engineering disciplines. This includes civil, environmental, mining, chemical, mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering. 

About the opportunity

  • Deliver independent research + teaching in Chemical Engineering (Flow Assurance / Gas Processing / LNG Production), supervise HDR/UG students, develop curriculum and lead teaching excellence across UG/PG.
  • Lead and deliver industry-driven research (incl FEnEx CRC projects) focused on methane emissions measurement, flow assurance and natural gas/LNG/CO2 transport — securing funding, publishing high-impact research and building national/international collaborations.
  • Contribute to service, governance and external engagement — strengthening industry partnerships, representing UWA professionally, contributing to social impact initiatives and supporting inclusion and diversity.

About you

  • PhD in an academic field relevant to the discipline or other higher professional qualifications appropriate to their discipline.
  • Demonstrate an emerging record of excellence in the development and delivery of curricula and the use of innovative teaching approaches, assessment and materials for units and courses.
  • Experience in the mentoring of junior colleagues, demonstrators and tutors, where relevant.
  • A strong track record in excellence in research at a national level evidenced by a series of peer-reviewed journal articles published in high quality journals.
  • A demonstrable track record of successfully securing competitive and/or industry funding.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate well to staff and students at all levels and evidence of a commitment to equity and diversity principles.
