About the area

The Directorate of Student Success and Progression sits within the UWA Education Portfolio, overseen by the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Education and Student Experience. Student Success and Progression plays an integral role in the shared strategic goal of providing a world-class student experience.

The Directorate has responsibility for critical functions, including Admissions, Enrolment and Fees, Scholarships, Timetabling, Partnership Programs, Student Advising, Exams, Results and Progression, Graduation, and Service Enhancement. Working across the University, the Directorate partners with academic and professional leaders to deliver integrated, student-centred services that support academic success, retention, and progression.

A key function within Student Success and Progression is the Student Administration Team, who deliver core administrative functions, directly or in partnership with teams across the University at all stages of the student journey specifically, Fees & Enrolment, Scholarships, Partnership Programs, Timetabling and Exams, Progression & Graduation. This requires close collaboration with other key areas in the University including Strategy Planning and Performance and Academic Quality and Standards for reporting and compliance, Brand Marketing and Recruitment and IT (Student Information Management team).

About the opportunity

  • You will lead comprehensive, professional, client-focussed services and programs to undergraduate and postgraduate domestic and international students. You will lead the implementation of innovative student service initiatives and provide strategic planning and direction to support relevant University strategic priorities.
  • Play a key role in liaising with a wide range of University stakeholders in relation to the delivery of digitally enhanced services to students to improve the student experience.

About you

  • Relevant postgraduate tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency.
  • Extensive management experience with the demonstrated ability to strategically lead and drive teams and projects.
  • Extensive experience in developing, managing and allocating resources within budget.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence long term planning and key strategic direction.
  • Extensive understanding of the Higher Education legislative environment with reference to Student Administration matters is desirable.

Special Requirements

  • A current National Police Clearance Certificate.
  • Financial Background checks.
