About the area
Technical Services, part of College Services at UWA, provides specialist support across Schools, contributing to the University’s teaching and research goals. Focused on performance, compliance, and safe systems of work, the Physical Sciences Technical Services team underpins learning across Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Environmental and Mining Engineering. The team supports practical training and research across multiple venues on and off campus.
About the opportunity
- Provide high-level technical support for teaching and research activities across Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Environmental and Mining Engineering.
- Operate and maintain specialist equipment and instrumentation in labs and workshops, ensuring safety and compliance.
- Contribute to the development of practical training environments and supervise technical staff to deliver efficient operations.
About you
- Relevant tertiary or technical qualification or equivalent competency Substantial relevant technical experience at an appropriate level Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly developed organisational skills and demonstrated ability to set priorities and to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in a range of computing skills including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email on online/internet-based systems.
Note: A current “C” class driver’s licence will be required by the successful applicant.
Current (or ability to hold) high-risk licences including but not limited to Forklift, Dogging and Basic Rigging, Gantry and Crane operation, Working at Heights and Confined Spaces
