  • Full-time appointment on a fixed term basis for 2 years.
  • Base salary range: $95,231 – $100,643 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

The Indian Ocean Marine Research Centre (IOMRC) is a collaboration that brings together four of Australia's leading research organisations working in and around the Indian Ocean:

UWA Oceans Institute

The collaboration includes the development of multi-disciplinary IOMRC collaborative research initiatives that will significantly advance Australia's marine science capacity, capability, and profile.

About the opportunity

  • Provide administrative and executive support to IOMRC Crawley and IOMRC Watermans.
  • Contribute to the efficient operation, governance, and profile of the Indian Ocean Marine Research Centre (IOMRC) partnership by coordinating administrative processes, supporting governance activities, facilitating stakeholder communications, and managing front-of-house functions.
  • Ensure effective day-to-day operations and maintain strong connections across partner institutions, while working within established policies and procedures.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated administrative experience, with the ability to coordinate a range of administrative processes, support governance activities, and manage operational tasks accurately and professionally.
  • Experience providing administrative support to universities, research, or government environments, with the capacity to work effectively across multiple partner institutions and adapt to varying systems and expectations.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft meeting papers, briefing notes, committee documentation, and digital content, and to convey information clearly, confidentially, professionally and consistently across partnership communications.
  • Experience supporting governance committees (e.g. preparing agendas, collating papers, arranging logistics, maintaining records), facilitating communication between partners and leadership, and managing competing deadlines, projects, and process improvements.
  • Ability to engage professionally with a diverse range of stakeholders, work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, and respond flexibly to differing requirements across the partnership.
