About the area
The Centre for English Language Teaching (CELT) works to enhance recognition of UWA internationally by providing high quality intensive English language programs and allied services, including testing services. It contributes to UWA’s priorities and operations through its expertise in the teaching, learning, and testing of the English language and through its international promotional activities. Within this context, CELT’s annual turnover of around $8M from tuition and test fee income enables it to be self-funding whilst making a contribution to services for the University’s students. In 2014, CELT became a part of the office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) and with the International Centre has a role in supporting and furthering the University’s international strategies.
About the opportunity
- You would have an important strategic and operational role in developing CELT’s profile and in planning and implementing promotional and recruitment activities locally, nationally, and internationally.
- In conjunction with the Director, the Associate Director is responsible for translating CELT’s strategic direction into an annual plan for the effective profiling and promotion of CELT and the recruitment of students.
- The role leads the implementation, monitoring, review and reporting of the effectiveness of activities undertaken to enhance CELT and the wider University’s profile as well as the effectiveness of recruitment initiatives.
About you
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent substantial experience in marketing at a leadership level, preferably in the field of international education.
- Demonstrated ability to plan marketing for the long term, to set strategic direction and to translate strategy into operational goals.
- Demonstrated effective budget planning and management.
- Proven ability to negotiate and influence as well as building effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
Note: You will be required to undertake Interstate Travel. Significant Overseas Travel and Occasional weekend work.
