  • Base salary range: Level B, $113,934 – $134,824 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The University of Western Australia’s Albany campus is located in Kinjarling / Albany and facilitates UWA’s teaching and research activity in the Great Southern region of Western Australia. The campus has a strong reputation for applied research and teaching drawing on the rich place-based strengths of the Great Southern’s biodiversity, oceans and communities.

About the opportunity

  • Develop their expertise in teaching and research in the area of marine mammal science
  • Conduct research in the field of marine science, with an emphasis on the biology, ecology, conservation and management of marine mammals.
  • Actively contribute to teaching and learning at UWA and contribute to service and engagement that supports growth of UWA Albany and UWA’s research profile.

About you

  • PhD in an academic field relevant to the discipline and relevant experience in marine biology with a focus on marine mammals.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver innovative teaching approaches, assessment and materials for units and courses
  • Demonstrated commitment in participating in high quality research evidenced by peer-reviewed journal articles published in respected scholarly journals   
  • Demonstrated ability to attract research funding either independently or collaboratively
  • Experience in developing and leading public engagement activities that promote research and/or education outcomes

Note: A current “C” class driver’s licence will be required by the successful applicant.
