About the area

Finance plays a critical role in ensuring financial stewardship through strategic advice, financial management frameworks, investment and endowment oversight, procurement, and compliance. The division is structured into three key pillars: Financial Compliance, Financial Performance, and Procurement, working collaboratively across the University to support strategic goals and operational excellence.

About the opportunity

  • Lead the University's financial reporting and compliance functions, ensuring adherence to regulations and best practices.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, statutory reports, and audits.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in financial governance and reporting.

About you

  • A degree in accounting, business, or a related field, with full professional membership of a recognised Australian accounting body.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in financial reporting and compliance.
  • Extensive knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, statutory financial reporting, and financial legislation.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performing finance teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and strategic advisory skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
