  • Part-time (0.4 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis until December 2026.
  • Base salary range: Level B, $113,934 – $134,824 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.
  • Based in Geraldton in regional Western Australia

About the area

The Western Australian Centre for Rural Health (WACRH) is administered by the University of Western Australia and is part of a network of University Departments of Rural Health across Australia. WACRH has its main centre in Geraldton, where this position is located, but also has offices in the Pilbara and Gascoyne regions.

WACRH’s vision is to be a leader in the creation and optimisation of rural health knowledge and practice that improves the health of rural communities.

About the opportunity

  • Undertake independent teaching and research in the area of Aboriginal Health and Community Engagement.
  • You will participate in improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people through contributing to educational activities and health services research.

About you

  • Masters degree or PhD with relevant experience in health services research, qualitative and/or quantitative methods and population health
  • A sound knowledge of research methods and rural and remote health services
  • Proven ability in the preparation and publication of manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a research team
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal health and health services around mental health, cancer, palliative care and social determinants of health

Note: A current National Police Clearance Certificate, Working with Children Check, and “C” class driver’s licence will be required by the successful applicant. Confirmation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage will be required for the successful applicant prior to appointment.
