- Base salary range: Level D, $166,851 – $183,563 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.
- Based in Geraldton in regional Western Australia
About the area
The Western Australian Centre for Rural Health (WACRH) is administered by the University of Western Australia and is part of a network of University Departments of Rural Health across Australia. WACRH has its main centre in Geraldton, where this position is located, but also has offices in the Pilbara and Gascoyne regions.
WACRH’s vision is to be a leader in the creation and optimisation of rural health knowledge and practice that improves the health of rural communities.
About the opportunity

Provide leadership across the WACRH in all areas related to Indigenous students, staff, stakeholders, and consumers. Specifically, the role will provide leadership in the implementation of the Aboriginal health across the regions that WACRH is located.

Provide leadership in engagement of Aboriginal communities and collaboration with Community Controlled Aboriginal Organisations and Aboriginal Corporations and strategic leadership and advice to WACRH staff members about Aboriginal Health and working with Aboriginal community members.
About you
- PhD in an academic field relevant to the discipline or other higher professional qualifications appropriate to their discipline.
- Demonstrated excellence in the development and delivery of education and training programs on Aboriginal culture and engagement
- Demonstrated ability to relate well to staff and students at all levels and evidence of a commitment to equity and diversity principles
- Demonstrated ability to positively contribute to team, WACRH, school and wider University activities such as team and school meetings, strategic planning and program development
- A sound knowledge of research methods and rural and remote health services
- Proven ability in the preparation and publication of manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals
Note: A current National Police Clearance Certificate, Working with Children Check, and “C” class driver’s licence will be required by the successful applicant. Confirmation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage will be required for the successful applicant prior to appointment. You will be required to undertake rural travel are all requirements of this position.
