About the area
The Australian Herbicide Resistance Initiative (AHRI) is a world-renowned research group dedicated to addressing herbicide resistance challenges. AHRI collaborates with the farming community and industry to develop innovative programs that support sustainable cropping across Australia.
About the opportunity
- Contribute to groundbreaking agronomy research focusing on herbicide resistance and weed control.
- Conduct field, laboratory, and glasshouse experiments on plant growth, yield, and sustainability in Western Australian cropping systems.
- Work in a collaborative environment with researchers, industry partners and landholders to improve weed management and crop agronomy.
About you
- A tertiary qualification or Certificate in Laboratory Techniques (or equivalent experience) in agriculture or plant science.
- Extensive field research experience in weed control and crop agronomy, preferably within Australian dryland cropping systems.
- Proficiency in conducting small plot field experiments and glasshouse trials.
- Strong data collection, analytical, and reporting skills.
- Highly developed organisational and communication skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Special Requirements
- Willingness to travel to remote WA grain-belt locations, including overnight stays.
- Ability to work occasional weekends and after-hours as required.
- A current ‘C’ class driver’s licence.
- Physical fitness to meet the demands of fieldwork.
