About the area
Research Ethics and Integrity is responsible for ensuring the University upholds the highest ethical standards in conducting research with integrity. We are committed to the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research and the ethical codes to which it refers for working with animals, human research, and working with genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
Research Ethics and Integrity also supports the University’s Ethics and Compliance Committees and Foreign Interference Advisory Committee.
About the opportunity
- Lead the Research Ethics & Compliance Office to ensure development and implementation of processes.
- Provide key strategic planning and direction to ensure compliance and best practise within relevant State and Commonwealth regulatory frameworks.
- Action complaints on research integrity issues and improve training and knowledge of research ethics and integrity across the University.
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency.
- In-depth knowledge of the Australian higher education and research environment, particularly the regulatory frameworks governing clinical trials, human research, animal research, the use of genetically modified organisms, research integrity, and research involving international partners.
- Substantial and extensive experience in managing teams and stakeholders with diverse needs.
- Prior experience in critical evaluation of current systems and processes, and development of innovative strategies, policies or processes that support best practise in research ethics and integrity frameworks and processes.
- Knowledge of or lived experience in Western Australian Indigenous Culture and Community, especially as it relates to research ethics and requirements is desirable.
