  • Part-time (0.2 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis until December 2025.
  • Base salary range: $80,243 – $88,940 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Scheme, the WA state government and UWA have fully funded a dedicated RNA manufacturing facility called the RNA Innovation Foundry. The RNA Innovation Foundry enables the manufacturing of quality mRNA suitable for pre-clinical research that negates the need for individual laboratories to establish and maintain their own production. The facility will provide scale-up manufacturing capacity for RNA products to WA customers and support therapeutic research translation.

About the opportunity

  • Provide technical design and support to the RNA manufacturing workflow of the RNA Innovation Foundry (RIF).
  • Coordinate and conduct experimental design and execution of molecular biology aspects of the mRNA production workflow, including technical troubleshooting.
  • Compile results of experiments into reports and procedures.
  • Compile reports comprising the results of experiments and explanations as to how the results were obtained

About you

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in a field of molecular biology with knowledge of RNA biology.
  • Honours degree in cell biology, genetics or biochemistry is desirable.
  • Substantial relevant experience in modern molecular cell biology methods and laboratory skills including cell culture, transfection, RNA extraction, RT-qPCR and microscopy
  • Highly developed organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to set priorities and to meet deadlines.
