Digitisation Officer

  • Digitise items from identified collections for preservation and access.
  • 1x Part-time (0.6 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis until October 2025.
  • 1x Part-time (0.4 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis until April 2026.
  • Base salary range: $74,450 – $79,085 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

Records, Archives & Digitisation Services is part of the Research and Collections section of the Library and provides services including records and archives management and digitisation of cultural collections (through the Digitisation Centre of Western Australia).

About the opportunity

  • Provide administrative support and work as part of the Digitisation Centre of WA.
  • Receive and prepare materials for digitisation and undertake digitisation and processing of materials.
  • Provide maintenance of equipment, procedures, and standards relating to digitisation.

About you

  • Year 12 or equivalent competency.
  • Considerable relevant experience with contemporary digitisation equipment and processes.
  • Proficiency in a range of information and communication technologies, digital capture equipment, and file management.
  • Knowledge of standards and best practice principles with regard to digitisation techniques and an understanding of handling processes for sensitive and fragile materials.
  • Awareness of conservation ethics (as outlined in the AICCM Code of Ethics and Practice).
