School of Molecular Sciences

  • Full-time appointment on a fixed term basis until December 2025.
  • Base salary range: Level A, $80,520 – $108,362 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The UWA School of Molecular Sciences educates the leaders of tomorrow and generates translatable, practical solutions to key global problems in chemical sciences, molecular plant sciences, medicine and health, and future materials.

Research and education in the School spans the fields of chemistry, chemical biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, molecular genetics, ’omics, nanotechnology, molecular materials, synthetic biology and systems biology.

About the opportunity

  • Develop and deliver teaching activities from across the School, as well as teaching and research activities in the areas of Biochemistry and Aquatechnology, including work directed towards a new specialisation in Aquaculture and Aquatechnology within the Masters of Biotechnology with an increasing degree of autonomy.
  • Maintain and manage activity at the Shenton Park Aquaculture facility.

About you

  • Completed 4 years of tertiary study or equivalent qualifications and experience and may be required to hold a relevant higher degree in academic field relevant to the discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver innovative and effective teaching approaches, materials for units and courses 
  • Demonstrated commitment in participating in high quality research evidenced by peer-reviewed journal articles published in respected scholarly journals   
  • Maintain operation, access and compliance of the UWA aquaculture facility
