About the area

The Directorate of Student Life sits within the UWA Education Portfolio, overseen by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Education & Student Experience.  The Directorate has four core functions, Student Administration, Student Offices, Student Equity & Success, and Student Wellbeing & Engagement.  The scope of services centre on the student journey, from the provision of student programs and activities that support and promote access to UWA, to student enrolment, course planning, transition, and progression through the lifecycle of study to graduation.  The Directorate is also responsible for the delivery of services that promote academic success and support wellbeing and engagement for an enhanced student experience. Student Life works closely with the Student Guild, affiliated residential colleges and the wider UWA Education portfolio.

A key function within Student Life is the Student Office team who provide an enriched and supported student advisory service to students and the College of Schools. The Student Office team supports students’ connection to their school or discipline, facilitates core student administrative functions and delivers services to support academic progression for an enhanced student experience.

About the opportunity

You will deliver and provide consistent training and support for student facing staff and maintain a training model and material through collaboration with relevant staff and stakeholders.

  • In collaboration with other leaders, you will coordinate a surge workforce in response and in anticipation of different demands.
  • Liaise with Schools, central administration and staff regarding training, procedures, and resource requirements, ensuring new policy and procedures relevant to service delivery are updated in training and procedures and staff are made aware of changes.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent competency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to build effective working relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to supervise staff, coordinate team efforts and inspire high performance.
  • Ability to create training materials and conduct training sessions in person and online.
  • Knowledge of data analysis and KPIs.

Special Requirements

Out of work hours as required e.g. Saturdays during exam week.
