  • Drive early intervention, support, and compliance with WHS and injury management legislation.
  • Full-time appointment on an ongoing basis.
  • Base salary range: $129,497 – $137,029 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

About the area
The Health, Safety and Wellbeing Directorate is responsible for supporting a safe, healthy, and compliant working environment across UWA’s campuses. Working within the Risk, Integrity, Compliance and Safety division, the team partners with staff, students, and external providers to manage WHS obligations, prevent workplace injuries, and build wellbeing capability aligned with legislative requirements and organisational values.

About the opportunity

  • Lead UWA’s Health and Wellbeing team, delivering strategic advice, systems and services across injury management, workers’ compensation, and workplace wellbeing.
  • Manage complex cases, support senior leaders in mitigating health-related risks, and ensure compliance with WHS and injury management legislation.
  • Develop policy, build leadership capability, and foster a culture of continuous improvement through strategic vendor and stakeholder engagement.

About you

  • Extensive experience leading injury management and workers’ compensation services in a complex organisation.
  • Strong understanding of WHS and Workers’ Compensation legislation and application in a people-focused setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication and strategic advisory skills across health, safety, and wellbeing.
  • Proven capability in stakeholder engagement, project management, and policy development.
  • Ability to coach, influence and partner with senior leaders to achieve positive outcomes.

Special Requirements

  • Current “C” class driver’s licence.
  • Occasional after-hours attendance and travel may be required.
