  • Part-time (0.6 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis for 2 years.
  • Base salary range: $74,450 – $79,085 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The Division of Student Accommodation and Community sits within the UWA Education Portfolio, overseen by the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Education. Together, with the Division of Student Life, Student Accommodation and Community, plays an integral role in the shared strategic goal of providing a world-class student experience.

The Student Accommodation and Community Division provides co-aligned and extracurricular services for enrolled students, staff and community stakeholders. The Division manages a significant asset portfolio for the University, including all sporting facilities and infrastructure, as well as a series of student accommodation buildings and facilities. Co-aligned support services include the residential onsite student accommodation services of University Hall, UWA Medical Centre, UWA Child Care Services, UWA Sport and the commercial operations team (encompassing short stay accommodation and events). The area works closely with the Student Guild and the Division of Student Life.

The University Medical Centre provides a range of professional, client-focussed services in support of the University strategic objective to improve the quality of the student experience and support student success.

The Medical Centre provides convenient, confidential and comprehensive medical care for UWA students and staff. Services are provided across a range of areas, including General Practitioner consultations; emergency medical care; adult immunisations; travel advice; vaccinations; sexual health and the management of mental health problems.

About the opportunity

  • You will be responsible to the Practice Manager. You will provide medical reception duties and expertise in a wide variety of administrative duties to support the area.
  • Ensure smooth running of the Medical Centre by organising the appointment schedule, responding to enquiries and initiating action as appropriate.
  • Create computerised medical accounts/receipts, organising electronic transfer of data to Medicare via HIC Online and to Overseas Student Health Cover.

About you

  • Considerable relevant experience working in a medical reception environment
  • Knowledge of the Medicare system including HIC Online
  • Competency in handling cash/cheques and EFTPOS payments
  • Experience working with PRACSOFT, and Medical Director preferred

Special Requirements

  • Current CPR training
