- Base salary range: Level A, $80.520 – $108.362 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
The School of Molecular Sciences offers a dynamic research environment at the intersection of Chemistry and Biology. Located in the Bayliss Building, SMS is home to cutting-edge research facilities; including UWA Separation Science and Mass Spectrometry Platform, WA Proteomics and Centre for Microscopy, Characterisation & Analysis; and research centres, including ARC Centre of Excellence in Plants for Space, the ARC Training Centre for Next-Generation Biomedical Analysis, and the newly established RNA Innovation Foundry
About the opportunity
- Work on a research project focused on engineering yeast strains for the sustainable bioproduction of pharmaceutical molecules via precision fermentation
- Contribute to the construction and testing of engineered yeast strains, characterisation of biosynthetic pathways, and optimisation of production conditions.
About you
- Masters or Honours in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field within the Biological Sciences.
- Experience working in a research laboratory, preferably involving yeast or microbial biotechnology.
- Experience working in a research or industrial laboratory, preferably involving yeast or microbial biotechnology.
Note: A current National Police Clearance Certificate will be required by the successful applicant.
