  • Full-time appointment on a fixed term basis for two years.
  • Base salary range: Level A, $80,520 – $108,362p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The UWA Centre for Energy is an internationally reputed research facility in fuels, energy and sustainable development. The Centre's overall aim is to develop new knowledge and advanced technologies for efficient, effective and environmentally friendly utilisation of fuels and energy in the resources industries.

The Centre is working closely with leading companies, institutions and government agencies, to improve fuel processing, energy conversion and utilisation technologies.

About the opportunity

  • Conduct research in in chemical engineering, energy systems, renewable fuels, and waste valorisation, contributing to innovations like compressed air energy storage.
  • Support research development and collaboration by assisting with funding proposals, coordinating projects, and engaging with industry partners.

About you

  • An undergraduate degree in Chemical or Mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated commitment in participating in high quality research evidenced by peer-reviewed journal articles published in respected scholarly journals.  
  • Demonstrated ability to relate well to staff and students at all levels and evidence of a commitment to equity and diversity principles.
  • Research experience in one or more of the following areas: Selective Catalytic Reduction of NO; Ammonia Reduction; Decarbonising Ironmaking; Utilisation of Renewable Hydrogen, Processing of Wastewater, Compressed Air Energy Storage.
  • Proficiency in experiment design, performance and subsequent data analysis.
