- Full-time appointment on a fixed term basis for 3 years.
- Base salary range: Level A, $83,499 – $112,371; Level B, $118,150 - $139,812 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
School of Psychological Science (SPS) at UWA comprises over 40 staff who deliver a world-class research and education experience to thousands of undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students. SPS is responsible for the research training of over 120 PhD students. SPS is research intensive with internationally recognized expertise in Human Factors, Mathematical Psychology, Industrial and Organisational Psychology, Perception, Cognition, Developmental Psychology, Social and Personality Psychology, Clinical Psychology, and Clinical Neuropsychology.
About the opportunity
- Collaborate with the national and international academic researchers, research assistant(s) and research students to develop a unified computational model of how humans use automated advice.
- Undertake independent and collaborative research to generate research outputs of high standard
- Development, fitting, simulation and parameter recovery of computational models
- Communicate research findings through scientific publication in peer reviewed journals of high international standing, conference presentations, and presentations to industry
- Supervise research assistants and research students (PHD, honours, masters)
About you
- A PhD in Psychology/Cognitive Science
- A track record in research excellence evidenced by peer-reviewed journal articles published in high quality journals relative to opportunity
- Experience in cognitive psychology, mathematical psychology (computational modelling) and/or human factors methods and related statistical techniques (including Bayesian hierarchical methods)
- Experience with the development and application of computational models in psychology, preferably in human factors.
