In its unique position on the West Coast of Australia, facing the Indo-Pacific, the School aims to extend its education mission to the broader region offering world class education and leading international research that is relevant to the challenges of today and the future. The UWA Business School has around 100 academic staff and 5000 students and teaches both undergraduate, postgraduate masters, MBA and PhD courses. Management and Organisations in the Business School offers undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses, as well as research-based doctoral degrees. The Department is particularly interested in hiring individuals who are enthusiastic about teaching and, equally importantly, have a well-developed research agenda with the aim of publishing in high-quality refereed academic journals.

About the opportunity

  • Deliver and coordinate undergraduate and postgraduate units in Management and related disciplines, contribute to curriculum innovation, and supervise student research projects across all levels.
  • Lead and participate in high-impact research, secure external funding, publish in top-tier journals, and foster collaborative research networks locally and internationally.
  • Contribute to university governance, promote diversity and inclusion, build industry and community partnerships, and represent the university in professional and public forums.

About you

  • PhD in an academic field relevant to the Management and Organisations discipline. (e.g., strategic management, business analytics, global business, project management, organisational theory, decision sciences, organisational behaviour, human resource management and employment relations)
  • Demonstrated track record of sustained excellence in leading the development and delivery of curricula and in the development of innovative teaching approaches, assessment and materials for units and courses. 
  • Experience in mentoring of junior colleagues, demonstrators and tutors. 
  • An strong track record in excellence in research at a national level evidenced by a series of high-quality peer-reviewed journal articles published in high quality international journals.   
  • A demonstrable track record of successful competitive funding applications. 
  • Demonstrated capacity to build sustainable research partnerships with other organisations. 
  • Demonstrable experience of leading public engagement activities that promote research leadership and/or education outcomes, government and industry.
