- Base salary range: Level A, step 8, $112,371 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
The Department of Physics has an international reputation for excellence in research, as recognised by the hosting of two ARC Centre Nodes for Gravitational Wave Discovery and Dark Matter Particle Physics. It also leads in research areas including quantum and frequency metrology, quantum gravity and field, quantum information and computation, spintronics and magnetisation dynamics, terahertz and optical technology, as well as bio and medical physics.
About the opportunity
- Develop fundamental theories, design and deliver a focused research program, publish high-impact manuscripts, and present findings at conferences.
- Work with your UWA mentor, prepare competitive fellowship applications, engage with collaborators, and co-supervise Honours and PhD students while contributing to teaching.
- Hold a doctoral degree in Theoretical Physics, show proven ability in independent research, fellowship applications, and manuscript preparation, with strong communication and teamwork skills.
About you
- Has been awarded a doctoral or doctorate in Theoretical Physics.
- Proven ability in independently formulating a competitive fellowship application.
- Proven ability in independently formulating and pursuing research questions and conducting high-quality research.
- Proven experience in independently writing high-quality and high-impact manuscripts and disseminating results in oral presentations.
- The ability to co-supervise and train Honours and PhD students.
