  • Part-time (0.4 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis to 28/2/2027.
  • Base salary range: $95,231 – $100,643 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The Asia Centre at UWA exists to strengthen Western Australia’s connections with Asia by fostering people-to-people relationships, cultural exchange, and a shared sense of belonging. More than a hub for trade and economic engagement, the Centre is a place where students, alumni, visitors, and Asian diaspora communities feel welcomed and valued.

Through fellowships, executive dialogues, community gatherings, seminars, short courses, and high-level forums, the Asia Centre provides opportunities to learn from thought leaders, build partnerships, and advance collaboration across the region. In complementing the work of the Perth USAsia Centre, the Asia Centre positions UWA as a leader in bringing together academia, business, government, and community to champion the diverse connections that shape Western Australia’s future.

About the opportunity

  • You will provide high-level support to the Asia Centre through the planning, coordination, and delivery of events, the development of compelling communications, and administrative support to the Centre’s leadership and governance.
  • You will work closely with the Centre’s Co-Directors, Advisory Board and key stakeholders to deliver professional, timely, and effective activities to engage the Asian diaspora in Western Australia and enhance the Asia Centre’s reputation and impact.

About you

  • Demonstrated experience in event planning, coordination, and delivery.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in drafting professional communications and marketing materials.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in providing administrative support to senior leaders, including meeting management and servicing of committees or boards.
  • Experience working across cultures with international stakeholders highly regarded.
