- Part-time (0.8 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis until December 2026
- Base salary range: $95,231 – $100,643 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation
- Position primarily based at QEII Medical Centre, Nedlands
About the area
Technical Services supports UWA’s teaching and research goals by providing expert, discipline-specific knowledge across a broad range of biomedical science disciplines. The team works closely with academic staff to deliver high-quality laboratory, fieldwork, and research support, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. This role sits within the Biomedical Sciences portfolio, supporting areas such as infection and immunity, pathology, pharmacology, pharmacy, and biochemistry.
About the opportunity
- Provide high-level technical expertise to support teaching and research in biomedical sciences PC2 laboratoies
- Prepare and set up materials, equipment, and instrumentation working collaboratively with academic and technical teams
- Demonstrate, develop, and optimise laboratory techniques, and supervise others in the use of specialised equipment, modelling best practice in safe laboratory operations
About you
- Relevant tertiary or technical qualification or equivalent competency
- Substantial relevant technical experience at an appropriate level
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
- Highly developed organisational skills and demonstrated ability to set priorities and to meet deadlines
- Proven ability in implementing a range of policies and procedures to support teaching and research from a technical and scientific perspective
