  • Part-time (0.8 FTE) appointment on a permanent/ongoing basis.
  • Base salary range: $112,114 – $122,544 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

The Health, Safety and Wellbeing Directorate at UWA champions the safety, health, and welfare of all university staff, students, and visitors. Through best-in-class practices and legislative compliance, the Directorate works to create a dynamic and supportive campus where wellbeing is an integral part of the university experience.

About the opportunity

  • Oversee programs addressing manual handling, mental health, psychosocial risks, and ergonomics while aligning with legal and strategic priorities.
  • Develop innovative systems, manage complex workers' compensation claims, and provide expert guidance to stakeholders.
  • Conduct assessments, lead incident reviews, and implement strategies to enhance health, safety, and wellbeing across the University.

About you

  • Relevant qualifications in an allied health field (e.g., Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Physiotherapy) or extensive professional experience.
  • Expert knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health, Workers’ Compensation, and Disability legislation, with the ability to influence compliance and promote best practices.
  • Proven experience in managing complex injury cases, including psychological and physical conditions, with effective return-to-work outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to engage stakeholders, influence strategic decisions, and deliver high-quality assessments and reports.
  • A strong commitment to continuous improvement in health, safety, and wellbeing processes.

Special Requirements

  • Current National Police Clearance Certificate.
