About the area
The Australian Centre for Geomechanics (ACG) is a multi-disciplinary joint venture and UWA Research Centre which provides professional education, training and research services to the mining sector, in the disciplines of underground, open pit, and environmental mining geomechanics. The overall aim of the Centre is to improve mine safety and productivity.
ACG’s main activities are applied mining industry research, and the facilitation of continuing education and training through courses and conferences. Technology transfer from research outcomes through publications, training courses and training materials is an important part of the ACG’s mandate.
About the opportunity
- Provide high-level support in administration, events, and finance.
- Handle a diverse range of responsibilities as outlined in the position description, with flexibility being essential in adapting to different tasks.
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualification in business administration, finance, or demonstrated equivalent competency.
- Substantial relevant experience in an administrative and finance support role, including working knowledge of accounting principles and applications.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft 365, particularly Excel, Teams, and Outlook (including calendar management).
- Experience using customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
- Proven ability to adapt to new technologies, willingness to learn UWA and ACG specific systems, and a process improvement mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage a wide range of enquiries and provide excellent customer service.
