School of Molecular Sciences

  • Full-time appointment on a fixed term basis for 5 months.
  • Base salary range: Level A, $80,520 – $108,362 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The School of Molecular Sciences is a large, research-intensive school with 100 staff, 100 PhD students, and more than 600 undergraduate students. The School is committed to achieving international excellence in teaching, research and service, with activity spanning Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Molecular Genetics.

The Chemical Biology Laboratory is a multi-disciplinary team environment and overall, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team environment undertaking a diverse range of research projects.

About the opportunity

  • Undertake innovative laboratory-based research in a team environment to prepare materials for research projects within the laboratory
  • Permit extensive collaboration within the multidisciplinary and collaborative environment of the Laboratory
  • Develop their own research ideas along the lines of the research interests of the group.

About you

  • Completed 4 years of tertiary study or equivalent qualifications and experience and may be required to hold a relevant higher degree in academic field relevant to the discipline
  • Demonstrated commitment in participating in high quality research evidenced by peer-reviewed journal articles published in respected scholarly journals   
  • Significant experience in chemical synthesis of small organic molecules for use in biological studies
