- Full-time appointment on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
- Base salary range: Level B, $113,934 – $134,824 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

The Rumen Methane Group at the University of Western Australia (UWA) focuses on researching and developing strategies to reduce methane emissions from livestock, aiming to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions and enhance livestock productivity.
About the opportunity
- Undertake independent research in the area of rumen enteric methane dietary mitigation strategies
- Conduct high-level independent and collaborative research, contribute to data collection, analysis, and manuscript preparation, assist in grant writing and development of new research proposals
- Mentor junior researchers and postgraduate students.
About you
- PhD in Animal Science
- Demonstrated research expertise in enteric methane mitigation using dietary approaches
- A track record of peer-reviewed publications in journals relevant to ruminant livestock production and methane emissions
- Ability to clearly communicate scientific findings in writing and verbally, including to interdisciplinary audiences, stakeholders, and industry partners.
- Demonstrable experience of participation in education/research leadership in public engagements that promote research and/or education outcome, government and industry
Note: A current “C” class driver’s licence will be required by the successful applicant.
