About the area
The Centre for Water and Spatial Science (CWSS) sits within the UWA School of Agriculture and Environment and brings together water and geospatial science researchers across disciplines to address pressing environmental challenges. The Aquatic Ecodynamics (AED) research group, part of CWSS, is internationally recognised for its modelling expertise in catchment-to-coast systems, especially water quality prediction and coastal ecosystem analysis.
About the opportunity
- Support research projects focused on coastal hydrodynamics and water quality in Exmouth Gulf, Cockburn Sound and Moreton Bay.
- Assist in data analysis, coastal and river modelling, and geospatial analyses to inform aquatic science investigations.
- Collaborate with researchers, agency scientists, and managers to improve environmental outcomes.
About you
- A degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field; postgraduate qualifications desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge in ecohydrology, aquatic systems, or coastal science.
- Experience with Python, R, or MATLAB, and prior experience in environmental modelling tools.
- Highly organised, analytical, and able to manage multiple datasets and research workflows.
- Skilled in scientific writing, effective communication, and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
