- Base salary range: Level A, $80,520 - $108,362 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
You will be working in the Microelectronics Research Group (MRG) in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the School of Engineering. The MRG has an international reputation in science and engineering related to defence and played a significant role in aiding Australian Defence Forces through the Australian Commonwealth Defence Science and Technology Group. You will be specifically work with a team who have extensive experience atmospheric optical propagation.
About the opportunity
- Conduct research in a multi-disciplinary lab focused on developing high-performance optical MEMS-based switching components.
- Participate in MEMS design, mechanical/optical modelling, materials characterisation, and testing of optical MEMS structures.
- Develop and optimise material growth processes and contribute to scholarly publications based on research outcomes
About you
- Working towards a PhD in the area of Optical MEMS.
- Strong background in optical MEMS technology, including design, fabrication, and characterisation.
- Expertise in optical and MEMS modelling tools, including Matlab, MEEP, Coventorware, and ANSYS.
- Demonstrated experience in running Electrical Engineering Design units at a Masters level.
- Fluency in English and good communication skills.
