  • Base salary range: Level B, $113.934 – $134,824 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation

About the area

The Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences is located in the School and offers a three-year postgraduate professional doctorate of Optometry along with Higher Degree by Research options.

The UWA Doctor of Optometry Program aspires to “graduate socially accountable optometry professionals (clinicians and researchers), who are lifelong learners committed to delivering culturally safe and responsive, person-centred care, which meets individual and societal health care needs and improves health outcomes.”

About the opportunity

  • Provide academic and clinical teaching at the UWA affiliated eye clinics.
  • Deliver quality teaching and module co-ordination in Optometry and will actively participate in developing the Department’s teaching strategy
  • undertake clinic supervision and actively participate in the development of the Optometry clinical teaching strategy

About you

  • Relevant undergraduate degree in optometry
  • Demonstrated knowledge of or commitment to teaching in a university environment
  • Demonstrated ability to administer and coordinate academic units and programs in teaching and learning
  • Familiarity with flexible teaching methods, such as case enhanced learning and e-learning
