- Part-time (0.4 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis for 2.5 years.
- Base salary range: $80,243 – $88,940 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
Westerly Magazine is published by the Westerly Centre, within the School of Humanities. It is staffed and sits adjacent to English and Literary Studies (ELS) as a discipline. ELS is a rich and diverse group that teaches and researches in fields of literary studies, cultural studies, gender studies and creative writing. The School of Humanities provides a very rich intellectual environment with over 3,500 students studying undergraduate and postgraduate courses in a broad range of disciplines in the humanities, cultural and social sciences, languages and music.
About the opportunity
- Provide editorial administration for Westerly Magazine
- Be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing a range of administrative functions that may include stakeholder, financial and customer management activities
- Be responsible for the administrative planning and direction of the Magazine, working independently and proactively to provide support to analyse and solve problems
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency, arts degree is preferable
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including copy and proof editing skills
- Highly developed organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to set priorities and to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in a range of computing skills including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet and email
- Experience with etiquette in the editorial space, particularly in dealing with authors (desirable)
