- Full-time or part time appointment (0.6 – 1.0 FTE) on an ongoing basis contingent on funding
- Base salary range: Level C $144,143 – $165,809 p.a. plus 17% superannuation
About the area
The Western Australian Centre for Rural Health (WACRH) is administered by the University of Western Australia and is part of a network of University Departments of Rural Health across Australia. WACRH has its main centre in Geraldton (where this position will be located). It also has offices and academics located in Karratha and Carnarvon.
WACRH’s vision is to be a leader in the creation and optimisation of rural health knowledge and practice that improves the health and wellbeing for people living in rural and remote communities in Western Australia.
About the opportunity
- Address the challenges and opportunities facing rural and remote health through education, applied research and service development.
- Contribute to WACRH’s innovative education program which provides a rural learning experience for undergraduate students from many health disciplines.
- Participates in / leads teams conducting practical research in one or more of the following areas: workforce development, primary health care systems, health literacy and population health. Working in partnership with other universities, workforce agencies, Aboriginal-community controlled health services, health service providers, professional associations and rural and remote communities are important features of this job.
About you
- You will possess effective organisational, time management and communication skills within a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to liaise with external stakeholders.
- Contribute to increasing Aboriginal peoples’ roles in improving the health and well-being of their communities, as planners and managers, service providers, trainers and trainees is essential in this position.
Note: A current driver’s licence, Working with Children check, and National Police Clearance certificate is a requirement for this position.
