  • Full-time appointment on a fixed term basis for two years.
  • Base salary range: Level D, $173,024– $190,355p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement) oversees UWA’s International initiatives focussed on achievement of our global engagement and internationalisation strategy. The International function works collaboratively across the University to progress international student recruitment via partnerships and Transnational Education (TNE) programs, strategic projects, research and industry engagement initiatives. It establishes strategic partnerships and maintains strong relationships with key education, research, public and private sector organisations worldwide.

About the opportunity

  • Provide high-level strategic advice and leadership in transnational education (TNE), internationalisation, and global partnerships, supporting schools, research centres, and academic staff across the university.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of TNE programs and international initiatives, ensuring alignment with academic standards and institutional strategy.
  • Manage budgets and resources within the Global Engagement portfolio, lead teams, chair committees, and represent the PVC (Global Engagement) in internal and external forums.

About you

  • A PhD qualification with an outstanding record of performance in international activities relevant to this role.
  • Relevant leadership and management experience and demonstrated ability to lead a high performing team in a large complex organisation.
  • A thorough knowledge of major issues in the international tertiary education sector, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region and the Indian Ocean Rim, and an appreciation of the associated political, diplomatic, and social environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a range of international cultural and linguistic contexts.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of strategies and strategic initiatives, including developing measurable plans and delivering on targets and indicators.
