About the area
This is a joint position between the School of Engineering and the School Physics Mathematics and Computing. The School of Engineering of is a multidisciplinary school offering education and research in a number of engineering disciplines, including biomedical, civil, environmental, mining, chemical, mechanical, electrical and electronic and automation robotics. The School of Engineering has an established and dedicated team of teaching and research academics providing undergraduate and post-graduate programmes across multiple engineering disciplines. In research, the School also spans a wide range of engineering disciplines, with groups often comprising transdisciplinary researchers who work with industry to produce outcomes with impact.
The Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering under the School of Physics, Mathematics and Computing is renowned for its award-winning researchers, teachers and facilities. The broad-based undergraduate and postgraduate programs are complemented by a wide range of research activities and the School is a leader in developing graduates with high level expertise in computer programming and the methods involved in performing complex computations and processing data. About you
- PhD in Engineering or closely related field.
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to deliver innovative teaching at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level in at least two of the areas listed above.
- A demonstrable track record (relative to opportunity) of excellence in research with impact in an area complementary to the research being undertaken at UWA.
- A demonstrable track record of successful competitive funding applications or significant experience in an industrial research environment.
- Demonstrated ability to positively contribute to the school and wider University activities such graduations, open days, school meetings, strategic planning and program development.
