  • Full-time appointment on a fixed term basis to 30 June 2027 (possibility of extension).
  • Base salary range: $129,497 – $137,029 p.a. plus 12% superannuation.

About the area

The Perth USAsia Centre is a non-partisan and not-for-profit institution. Through research and educational activities, the Centre strengthens strategic thinking between Australia, the Indo-Pacific, and the United States and engages thought leaders to address challenges and opportunities in the Indo-Pacific region.

Based at The University of Western Australia, the Centre is an independent company and shares the values of the University. It has a strong commitment to personal effectiveness, working collaboratively and demonstrating a focus on results.

This position leads the Content and Analysis team, which is responsible for delivering high quality, insightful, and engaging content that educates stakeholders and empowers informed decision-making.

About the opportunity

  • Lead the planning, development, resource allocation and logistical coordination of the Centre’s content program.
  • Develop and foster relationships with key external stakeholders, research advisers, fellows, Centre partners and industry, research and government bodies. 
  • Align the Centre’s content development with internationally focused issues impacting Australia’s the political, business and social environments.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent competency.
  • Extensive experience in international policy, foreign affairs or international relations.
  • Experience managing a team with multiple priorities and a demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership, motivation and direction to staff.
  • Demonstrated experience liaising with external stakeholders, with a working knowledge of government operations and diplomacy.

Special Requirements

  • A current National Police Clearance Certificate.
  • Occasional weekend and after-hours work.
