- Part-time (0.2 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
- Base salary range: $83,212 – $92,231 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

This position is based within the Rare Disease Genetics and Functional Genomics Group at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, led by Professor Gina Ravenscroft, and is part of the UWA Centre for Medical Research.
The group investigates the genetic causes of muscle diseases. The Laboratory’s research focuses on disease gene discovery and improved molecular diagnostics.
About the opportunity
- Support ongoing collaborative research projects including uncovering the genetic basis for rare neurogenetic/neuromuscular diseases.
- Assist with processing and analysis of various data types including RNA-seq, WES/WGS, long-read sequencing and others.
- Assist in developing or refining pipelines for data analysis and methods/platforms for data visualisation.
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency.
- Relevant bioinformatics and computational biology research experience at an appropriate level.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly developed organisational skills and demonstrated ability to set priorities and to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively as part of a team.
