  • Full-time appointment on a fixed term basis for three years
  • Base salary range: Level A, $83,499 – $112,371; Level B, $118,150 – $139,812 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The Centre for Water and Spatial Science (CWSS) sits within the UWA School for Agriculture and Environment at The University of Western Australia (UWA), leading water and geospatial science researchers from schools across UWA. CWSS provides research leadership in water and spatial science in Western Australia and is a preferred research partner for national and international projects. 

About the opportunity

  • Develop expertise in research within the areas of plant biology, agricultural systems, and climate science, with an increasing degree of autonomy as skills and experience are gained.
  • Lead postdoctoral or early-career research within the Zero Net Emissions Agriculture Cooperative Research Centre and the Western Australian Agricultural Research Collaboration
  • Deliver knowledge and tools that support the transition of Australian farming systems to net zero emissions, enabling growers to adopt renewable energy and low-emission farming practices with confidence and impact

About you

  • PhD in plant biology, agricultural systems, climate science, or a related discipline.
  • Evidence of development of innovative and effective approaches to teaching and learning in areas related to environmental monitoring, ecology, or data analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in high-quality research within plant, climate, or agricultural sciences.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey scientific concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
