  • Base salary range: Level A, $83,499 – $112,371 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The Millar Laboratory, part of the ARC Centre of Excellence in Plant Energy Biology within the School of Molecular Sciences, focuses on uncovering how metabolic and cellular processes operate within plant systems. The team works at the forefront of molecular life sciences, supported by state‑of‑the‑art experimental and informatics platforms, and collaborates extensively across UWA and with leading international research groups.

About the opportunity

  • Conduct innovative experimental and computational research to analyse plant responses in controlled environments.
  • Design, implement and optimise reproducible experimental systems, supporting collaborators in aligned research.
  • Play an active role in biological discovery, technology development, manuscript preparation and scientific publication.
  • Build strong collaborative links with national and international research partners.

About you

  • PhD in plant biochemistry, molecular biology or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in proteomics applied to plant stress physiology.
  • Proven capability in correlation network analysis of large‑scale ’omics datasets.
  • Experience conducting cereal plant research and leading research project activities.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
