Payroll Operations, within People & Culture, is responsible for delivering accurate, timely and compliant payroll services to the University community. The team operates in a complex, high‑volume environment and is committed to providing professional, responsive and customer‑focused service.
About the opportunity
- Lead the Payroll Operations team to deliver accurate and timely payroll processing in accordance with University policies, employment legislation and Enterprise Agreements.
- Provide expert advice and support on complex payroll and HR matters, working closely with business units to resolve queries and ensure smooth operational outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, streamline processes and foster a service‑oriented culture focused on professionalism, efficiency and customer experience.
About you
- You have relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience, with substantial administrative experience in Human Resources or payroll environments.
- You bring strong technical payroll knowledge and demonstrated experience working in a high‑volume, compliance‑driven environment.
- You have proven leadership capability, including experience supervising, mentoring and developing staff to build team capability and performance.
- You are highly organised, detail‑oriented and able to manage competing priorities while meeting service standards and deadlines.
- You demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong customer‑service ethos, and a commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
Special Requirements
- Current National Police Clearance Certificate.
