Payroll Systems Analyst

  • Support and administer aPay and associated systems to ensure accuracy, compliance and efficiency of payroll operations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and system optimisation to strengthen compliance and improve automation of processes.
  • Full-time (1.0 FTE) appointment on an ongoing basis.
  • Base salary range: $95,231 – $100,643 p.a.  plus 17% superannuation.

Payroll Operations, within People & Culture, supports the delivery of accurate, compliant and efficient payroll services for a diverse workforce. The team operates in a complex environment and is committed to service excellence, continuous improvement and system optimisation.

About the opportunity

  • Provide day‑to‑day support, administration and troubleshooting of the University’s payroll system and associated systems to ensure accurate, compliant and efficient payroll operations.
  • Support system upgrades, patches, testing and implementation activities, working closely with IT and vendors to resolve issues and enhance system functionality.
  • Contribute to system improvement initiatives through process reviews, documentation, training materials and the identification of automation and optimisation opportunities.

About you

  • You have a genuine interest and desire to grow your career in supporting and administering information systems.
  • You bring strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret policies, procedures and legislation and apply them within a payroll systems context.
  • You have experience supporting system testing, upgrades and enhancements, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • You communicate clearly and effectively, produce high‑quality documentation and work well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • You bring a customer‑focused approach and the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders across People & Culture and the wider University.
