  • Part-time (0.6 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis for 5 months.
  • Base salary range: $83,212 – $92,231 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The School of Population and Global Health is a leading research, teaching and service organisation whose work influences health policies and practices. Population (or public) health is the art and science of protecting and improving the health of communities, using an evidence-based approach through research, advocacy and health promotion. It plays an important role in health and wellbeing, as well as improving the social and environmental conditions and behaviours that affect us.

About the opportunity

  • Support the research evaluation of the Luminos Project, a residential centre for young people who have experienced suicidal thoughts and behaviours.
  • Participant recruitment, quantitative and qualitative data collection

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Public Health or related discipline
  • Substantial relevant experience at an appropriate level as a research officer or assistant
  • Basic understanding of mental health and suicide prevention
  • Completed Suicide Awareness training
  • Demonstrated experience in working with community organisations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with marginalised populations, including First Nations peoples, LGBTQA+ people and those who have experienced mental health issues.

Note: Employment checks will include information on gender-based violence, sexual harassment, and related misconduct to meet legal obligations.

A current National Police Clearance, Working with Children Check will be required by the successful applicant.
