  • Part-time (0.4 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis until 22/1/2027.
  • Base salary range: $83,212 – $92,231 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Global Engagement leads initiatives focused on achievement of global engagement and the internationalisation strategy. The team works collaboratively across the University to progress international student recruitment, research and industry engagement initiatives. It establishes strategic partnerships and maintains strong relationships with key education, research, public and private sector organisations worldwide.

The Global Learning and Sponsored Students team supports both international students studying at UWA and domestic students seeking international study experiences. The Global Learning and Sponsored Students team assists students with their transition to UWA, acts as a point of contact and ensures appropriate support and advice is provided to students. The team is responsible for operationalising the University’s strategic goals in Student Mobility, managing inbound and outbound Student Exchange and Study Abroad programs, as well as liaising, together with Global Engagement Managers, with key stakeholders in international sponsorship agencies and supporting their students.

About the opportunity

  • Provide administrative and operational support to new and continuing international sponsored students, ensuring compliance with external sponsor requirements, University policies and procedures, and Australian Government legislative frameworks.
  • Deliver high‑level administrative support to the sponsored students function, including coordination and support of student events, communications and routine processes to ensure a positive student experience.
  • Use sound judgement, expertise and initiative to provide accurate advice and high‑quality support to students and staff, contributing to the effective delivery of services within the sponsored students area.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency.
  • Demonstrated organisational and administration skills, with a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise and complete tasks within deadlines.
  • Experience in coordinating events for international students of diverse ages and cultural backgrounds.
  • Experience in the interpretation and application of policies in a tertiary education environment.
  • Broad knowledge of Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) National Code and Australian educational systems and frameworks, and government policies.
