Medical School

  • Part-time (0.2 FTE) appointment on a tenurable basis.
  • Base salary range: Level C, $144,143 – $165,809 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The UWA Medical School is the largest and longest established medical school in Western Australia. It delivers a 4-year post-graduate MD course to local, national and international students. The School also has substantial and successful research programs across most disciplines in the medical sector.

The Division of Internal Medicine provides high quality and innovative teaching to medical students throughout the course across multiple clinical sites in the Perth metropolitan area.

About the opportunity

  • Teaching in Palliative Care making a significant contribution across Western Australian teaching hospitals
  • Coordination of medical student clinical placements at tertiary hospitals, palliative care units and in community services throughout the metropolitan area in WA
  • Contribution to the MD program’s interprofessional learning and simulation programs, as well as in teaching and assessment of procedural skills in the clinical phase of the course.

About you

  • Demonstrate an emerging record of excellence in the development and delivery of curricula and the use of innovative teaching approaches, assessment and materials for units and courses  
  • Experience as a tutor and or supervisor of junior colleagues/doctors, and students, in a professional health setting.  
  • Demonstrable experience of leading public engagement activities that promote education outcomes
  • Registered, or able to be registered with AHPRA as a health practitioner in Western Australia.
  • Recent experience in clinical practice as a health professional within the discipline of palliative care, preferably in the last five years.
