About the area
The Brand, Marketing and Recruitment (BMR) division brings together marketing, communications, engagement and events into one coordinated function that strengthens UWA’s reputation and drives student recruitment. Within BMR, the Brand and Engagement team acts as a creative and strategic hub, shaping how the UWA brand is experienced across all channels and touchpoints. Events play a pivotal role, connecting the community, future students, industry partners and alumni through memorable, high‑quality experiences.
About the opportunity
- Lead the planning and delivery of major university events, including graduations, Open Day, strategic engagement initiatives and high‑level executive events.
- Manage and mentor a central events team, ensuring consistent, brand‑aligned and high‑impact event experiences across the University.
- Shape and enhance event processes and systems, including CRM‑based event workflows, guest management and event marketing integration.
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency in marketing or events.
- Substantial relevant event management experience, and experience managing a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and consultation and collaboration skills.
- Excellent planning, organisational and project management skills, with demonstrated ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and manage projects on time and within budget.
- Proven ability to build lasting business relationships, provide excellent client service and work effectively with volunteers.
