About the area

Operating under the leadership of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research), the Office of Research provides strategic, operational, and compliance support across the full research lifecycle, facilitating research excellence and access to infrastructure and platforms, ensuring that UWA maintains its position as a leading research-intensive university, upholding the highest standards of research ethics and governance.

About the opportunity

  • You will have a significant role in leading and managing the Research Insights and Enablement Team in administering research insights and enablement activities.
  • You will contribute to key strategic planning and direction for the team, including developing and influencing policies, procedures and processes to ensure efficient functioning.
  • You will handle complex and diverse enquiries, using your expertise and judgement to independently analyse issues and develop solutions.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency.
  • Demonstrated ability to determine long term planning and key strategic direction.
  • Substantial and extensive management skills and experience, including ability to supervise staff within a highly specialised team and allocate resources.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and demonstrated expertise and understanding of Australian higher education research funding and policy.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse, interpret and respond to emerging policy, to prepare and present advice and reports and incorporate within organisational procedures.

A finance check and a current national police check would be required, and the successful applicant may also be required to undertake occasional interstate travel and some after-hours work.
