  • Base salary range: $116,262 – $127,078 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The Directorate of Student Success and Progression sits within the UWA Education Portfolio, overseen by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Education and Student Experience. Student Success and Progression plays an integral role in the shared strategic goal of providing a world-class student experience.

The Directorate has responsibility for critical administrative functions across the student lifecycle, including Admissions, Enrolments, Fees, Scholarships, Timetabling, Student Advising, Exams and Graduation. Working across the University, the Directorate partners with academic and professional leaders to deliver integrated, student-centred services that support academic success, retention, and progression.

A key function within Student Life is the Student Administration Team, who deliver core administrative functions, directly or in partnership with teams across the University at all stages of the student journey specifically, Fees & Enrolment, Scholarships, International Loans, Partnership Programs, Timetabling and Exams, Progression & Graduation.

About the opportunity

  • Lead a high‑performing team responsible for delivering integrated examinations, progression, and graduation services across the University.
  • Drive continuous improvement through policy review, process redesign, and major system enhancement projects in collaboration with IT and key stakeholders.
  • Build strong partnerships across Schools, Service Teams, Campus Management, external agencies and vendors to ensure an exceptional student and staff experience.

About you 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (or equivalent experience) and substantial management experience in complex service environments.
  • You’re an exceptional communicator who can provide authoritative advice, consult widely, and influence at senior levels.
  • You demonstrate strong analytical, planning and organisational capabilities, with the ability to set priorities, solve problems, and meet deadlines.
  • You are proactive, independent, and confident in leading teams, driving innovation, and contributing to long‑term strategy.
  • You have deep knowledge of student administration, policies, legislation, and digital systems, with a commitment to outstanding service delivery.

Special Requirements

  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • The position may require occasional overseas travel.
