  • Base salary range: Level D, $173,024 – $190,355 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The UWA Dental School offers Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (DCD), and Higher Degrees by Research (HDR) programs and is responsible for dental education, research, and ensuring accreditation standards are met.

The Oral Health Centre of Western Australia (OHCWA) is the primary oral healthcare teaching hospital for WA, providing specialist and general dental care to over 15,000 patients annually while supporting the clinical education of UWA dental students.

About the opportunity

  • Independent academic, clinical, and research leadership (Program Convenor) in the Oral Medicine discipline within the Dental School and OHCWA
  • Provide curriculum leadership, program quality assurance, student supervision, trainee development, clinical service delivery, and advancement of scholarly activity in oral medicine.
  • Work across both settings to ensure contemporary teaching, high-quality clinical training, alignment with accreditation standards (e.g. ADC/AHPRA/RACDS), and contributions to clinical research and service innovation

About you

  • Registered specialist in Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology (AHPRA) or eligible for specialist registration in Australia.
  • Fellowship in Oral Medicine.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise across the oral medicine scope: mucosal disorders, orofacial pain, salivary gland disorders, oral manifestations of systemic disease, and oncology interfaces.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
  • Evidence of research activity, including peer-reviewed outputs, grants, or HDR supervision commensurate with academic level.

A current National Police Clearance, Working with Children Check will be required by the successful applicant.
