About the area

The role of Finance is to support the appropriate stewardship of the University’s finance through the provision of a strategic financial and commercial advice, establishment of a financial management framework, financial management tools, procurement, management of the University’s Investment and Endowment portfolio, as well as financial oversight and accountability for finance administrative and transactional operations.

Finance undertakes this role through four core pillars: Financial Compliance, Financial Performance, Treasury & Investment and Procurement.

In undertaking this role, Finance operates support across the University, from advising the Vice-Chancellery, Executive and Senior leadership team on strategy and performance to supporting staff and students in their purchases and travel arrangements.

About the opportunity

• As Senior Finance Business Partner (Corporate), you will provide strategic, enterprise‑level financial leadership to the University Executive and CFO Executive, influencing major initiatives, governance decisions and delivery of the University’s 2030 Strategy.
• You will lead the development of robust, evidence‑based financial modelling, analysis and policy insights that underpin strategic planning, organisational performance and long‑term financial sustainability. Working at the highest level of the organisation, you will interpret complex financial, commercial and policy impacts to enable informed decision‑making.
• In this role, you will build and lead multidisciplinary finance teams, overseeing significant organisational resources while strengthening financial governance, enhancing capability and fostering a high‑performing, service‑oriented culture focused on continuous improvement and value creation.

About you

• You are a senior finance leader with a tertiary qualification and full professional membership of a recognised accounting body, bringing extensive experience (10+ years) in strategic financial management, enterprise planning and performance.
• You have deep expertise in complex financial modelling, scenario analysis and the development of financial strategies that inform high‑stakes, organisation‑wide decisions.
• You are a trusted and influential business partner with a strong track record of advising executives, shaping policy and contributing to major strategic initiatives in complex environments.
• You are an exceptional communicator with advanced conceptual, analytical and problem‑solving skills, able to translate complex financial insights into clear, actionable recommendations for diverse stakeholders.
• You are a proactive leader committed to capability building, strengthening governance and embedding a culture of continuous improvement across financial services and strategic planning.
